Meet Dr. Vicki
Meet Dr. Vicki, a board-certified urgent care physician in California with a passion for guiding future medical professionals through the complex admissions process. With over 10 years of experience mentoring high school and college pre-med students, Dr. Vicki is deeply committed to helping students navigate the path to medical school and beyond.
A Journey of Dedication and Resilience
Dr. Vicki’s academic journey began at UC Berkeley, where she earned a full-ride merit/service-based scholarship and was recognized on the Dean’s Honor List. With a focus on pursuing a career in medicine, she continued her education at Touro University California School of Osteopathic Medicine and matched into a UC Davis-affiliated family medicine residency program in Central California, where she provided care to underserved populations.
In addition to her medical degree, Dr. Vicki holds multiple certifications in Education, Global Health, and Urgent Care Medicine. She has authored published research papers and is actively involved in admissions activities, giving her a well-rounded understanding of what medical schools look for in applicants.
Empowering Pre-Med Students: From Struggles to Success
Dr. Vicki’s path to becoming a physician wasn’t without its challenges. She understands the pressure and stress that pre-med students face, whether it's navigating GPA concerns, preparing for the MCAT, dealing with re-applications, taking gap years, or managing the anxiety that often accompanies the admissions process.
This personal experience is what inspired Dr. Vicki to found Empath Medical Advising, a service designed to provide compassionate, non-judgmental support to pre-med and medical school applicants. She is dedicated to helping students not only overcome academic obstacles but also build their confidence and resilience throughout the application journey.
